As global market leader for sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), SkyNRG has set out to build a self-sustaining network of regional supply chains, known as ‘Direct Supply Lines’ (DSLs). A DSL is a supply chain for sustainable aviation fuel that consists of local feedstock, a commercial fuel production plant and long-term offtake partners.
We have good news. The first Direct Supply Line, DSL-01, is already on its way. Together with partners KLM, SHV Energy and Schiphol Airport, SkyNRG is developing the first dedicated SAF production plant in Europe (read the press release). The production facility will be located in Delfzijl, The Netherlands, and is expected to start production on first fuels in 2024. By using regionally sourced waste oils as feedstock and green hydrogen in the production process, DSL-01 will produce the most sustainable aviation fuel available to date.
A large part of the offtake of the total SAF volume has already been guaranteed. Together with the Board Now coalition members, we aim to guarantee the remaining production volume to enable the envisioned capacity of 100,000 metric tons of SAF from DSL-01.
